8888 umbrella strike movement held across the country

August 8 Mizzima. The 8888 umbrella strike movement, held to commemorate the 38th anniversary of the 8888 democratic uprising, was carried out in various locations. Most participants in the umbrella strike used four umbrellas, each with the number eight written in white letters on a red umbrella. At the front of the Myanmar Embassy in Bangkok, members of the Yangon People's Strike Group, and at the front of the Myanmar Embassy in Malaysia, Myanmar residents in Malaysia, held these four umbrellas and commemorated the 8888 uprising. The Federation of Myanmar Construction and Timber Industry Labour Unions (BWFM) and the Federation of Myanmar Farmers and Agricultural Labour Unions (AFFM) also participated in the strike. Myanmar residents in Bangkok, Thailand, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan, and the UAE also joined in cooperation. The Yemabin Township strike force and the Aung Lan Lwin Shwe Ya Gyi strike force participated by using umbrellas with the number eight written in white on black umbrellas, and protested by shouting, "Our generation will repay the blood debt for the generation that sacrificed." The "We will not turn back, this revolution" strike column also held an 8888 Uprising ceremony, stating, "Taxes if the people are pleased, poison if the people are not pleased." The Fankant Township strike column participated despite strict inspections and held an anti-military dictatorship and opposition to the Myitsone Dam project strike to mark the 38th anniversary of the 8888 People's Democratic Uprising. Revolutionary forces from the Southern Command, including Cobra Column, Justice Soldier, Venom Column, and Black Panther Column, along with comrades from the Yangon Revolutionary Brotherhood, other groups, Revography Team, and revolutionary support personnel, and members of the Yangon People's Strike Group, held an umbrella strike movement at a school damaged by artillery and bomb attacks in a revolutionary area. The 5/Salk People's Strike Column Formation Network from Sarlingyi Township, Yinmarbin District, Sagaing Region, also participated in the umbrella strike.
