Chiang Rai Hosts Youth Balance Bike Competition to Boost Sports City Ambitions
Chiang Rai is hosting the "TOYOTA CHIANGRAI & SAT CHIANGRAI BALANCE BIKE 2026, 1st Edition" competition, aiming to increase youth sports participation and support the province's "Sports City" vision. The National Sports Development Fund has supported the “TOYOTA CHIANGRAI & SAT CHIANGRAI BALANCE BIKE 2026, 1st Edition” competition in Chiang Rai. The event is part of efforts to give children and young people more chances to play sports, build riding skills, and support Chiang Rai’s push toward becoming a Sports City. Deputy Governor Norrasak Suksomboon presided over the opening ceremony, joined by Chayanan Chueasiri-thawon, Director of the Sports Authority of Thailand Office in Chiang Rai, Jintana Jitsakul, Managing Director of Toyota Chiang Rai Co., Ltd., along with government officials, the organizing committee, and members of the media. The competition is a joint effort by Chiang Rai Province, Toyota Chiang Rai Co., Ltd., and the Sports Authority of Thailand Office in Chiang Rai. With funding from the National Sports Development Fund, the event gives children and youth a chance to take part in organized sport, improve physical fitness, and build healthy habits from an early age. The race is divided into 24 categories. Each class has its own set of awards, and the prizes are designed to give young riders clear goals and recognition for their effort. First-place winners receive a trophy from the Governor of Chiang Rai, a champion shirt, a medal, and a certificate. Riders who place second and third receive a trophy, medal, and certificate. Those who finish in fourth through eighth place receive a trophy and certificate. The award structure gives more children a reason to stay active and keep training. The National Sports Development Fund continues to back sports projects at every level. Its support helps more children get access to sport, while also raising the standard of competition.
