Four nabbed with P62-M marijuana at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — Four passengers arriving from Bangkok, Thailand were arrested after the Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted suspected marijuana valued at P62.326 million in their baggage during inspections at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on Thursday, July 30. According to the BOC, approximately 41.551 kilograms of suspected marijuana were found inside eight pieces of luggage. Authorities stated that this seizure is a significant step in preventing illicit drugs from circulating within the country. This incident highlights the persistent challenge of drug trafficking into the Philippines. Smuggling via passenger baggage from international flights remains a constant concern for authorities.
