Cambodia Distributes Over 2,232 Land Titles, Reflecting Government's High Regard for Citizen Welfare
Over 2,232 land titles were distributed to residents in Banteay Meanchey province, Cambodia. A ceremony was held in Banteay Meanchey province's Mongkol Borei district to distribute 2,232 land titles to residents. This initiative is seen as a reflection of the Cambodian government, led by Prime Minister Hun Manet, placing high importance on the welfare and livelihood improvement of its citizens. Presided over by Provincial Governor Oum Ratrey, the event targeted residents from Say Samon village in Chomroum commune and Ou Chhup Thmei village in Suor commune. Governor Oum Ratrey conveyed a message from Prime Minister Hun Manet, emphasizing that the land titles not only resolve land disputes but also grant citizens full legal rights and a strong economic foundation. The governor stated that these titles are "invaluable assets" that are legally protected and can be utilized to expand family economic activities and improve living standards. He characterized this as a result of the government's people-centered policies. The ceremony was attended by officials from relevant ministries, district and commune authorities, and numerous landholders, fostering a joyful atmosphere. Landowners expressed their happiness and gratitude for the legal protection and peace of mind the titles provide, alleviating concerns about land conflicts or encroachments. They also conveyed hopes of using the titles as capital for their livelihoods and to build a brighter future for their children. Governor Oum Ratrey commended the efforts of the provincial land management department, the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning, Construction, and Cadastre, and the Mongkol Borei district authorities for their diligent work. He urged the residents to safeguard their titles, use them effectively for development and livelihood enhancement, and cooperate with local authorities in implementing the "Safe Village-Commune-District" policy to maintain community security and order.
