Vietnam's Bac Ninh Province Begins Land Acquisition for New Airport Construction

In Gia Binh town, Bac Ninh province, northern Vietnam, the first phase of land acquisition and compensation payments for the Gia Binh International Airport construction project commenced on August 1. The Gia Binh Town People's Committee, in collaboration with the Gia Thuan Land Fund Development Center Branch and the investor, disbursed the first round of compensation, support, and resettlement funds to residents of the Dong Lam residential area. This project is positioned as part of Vietnam's transportation infrastructure expansion plan, expected to contribute significantly to the development of the northern economic region. Approximately 90 hectares of land have been handed over by Gia Binh town for the airport construction, as indicated in previous reports. The land acquisition process is proceeding with the understanding and cooperation of local residents, with the trial implementation of prefabricated housing being considered as part of the resettlement plan. Sun Group has been reported as the investor responsible for the connecting route between Gia Binh Airport and Tran Hung Dao Bridge. Vietnam, under its one-party system, is pushing forward with state-led infrastructure development, aiming to sustain economic growth and enhance international competitiveness. Amidst strong economic ties with China, domestic infrastructure development is considered crucial for supply chain diversification and logistics efficiency. This land acquisition marks an initial step in the large-scale Gia Binh International Airport project. Its smooth progression will be a significant stride for regional economic revitalization and Vietnam's overall development strategy.
