PAL Flight to Vancouver Diverted to Alaska Due to Pressurization Issue

Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Wednesday confirmed that its Vancouver-bound flight was diverted to Anchorage, Alaska, after the aircraft indicated a possible issue with its cabin pressurization system. In an advisory, PAL said PR116 — which left Manila on September 8, 2026 — landed safely in Anchorage, Alaska, as its crew followed established procedures. All passengers and crew on board were reported to be safe. PAL said its teams are working with those affected to provide assistance they need and to get them to Vancouver “as soon as possible.” “We are providing the necessary assistance to passengers and crew and are arranging their onward travel, while the aircraft undergoes a thorough technical assessment,” the advisory read. “We understand that an unexpected diversion can be a difficult and unsettling experience, particularly for our passengers and their families.
