Filinvest Partners with Meralco Unit for EV Infrastructure Rollout
Filinvest Group has partnered with Movem Electric Inc., the green mobility subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), to equip its properties with electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure. The collaboration aims to accelerate the deployment of EV solutions across Filinvest's commercial, residential, and office developments nationwide.
MANILA, Philippines — Filinvest Group has tapped the green mobility subsidiary of Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) to equip its properties with solutions supporting electric vehicles (EVs). In a statement on Wednesday, Movem Electric Inc. said the partnership would cover the deployment of EV requirements across Filinvest’s commercial, residential and office developments. This collaboration is seen as a significant step in accelerating the adoption of EVs in the Philippines, aligning with the government's push for sustainable transportation. While the country aims to reduce carbon emissions and enhance energy security through EVs, challenges such as the lack of charging infrastructure and high vehicle costs have hindered widespread adoption. Filinvest, a major real estate developer with a diverse portfolio, will leverage Movem Electric's expertise in EV charging solutions. Movem Electric, in turn, benefits from Meralco's extensive power grid and technical capabilities. The alliance is expected to contribute to the expansion of the EV ecosystem in the Philippines, making EV ownership more accessible and practical for consumers. This initiative underscores the growing trend of public-private partnerships aimed at fostering green technologies and sustainable development within the country.
