Cambodia Upskills Officials in AI for Enhanced Governance
Cambodian Ministry of Interior officials and staff participated in training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) usage. The initiative aims to enhance administrative tasks, data management, and information analysis, promoting the adoption of advanced technology responsibly and ethically.
Leaders and officials from the office of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, H.E. Sar Sokha, have received training on the "Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)". The training, organized by the General Directorate of Digital Technology and Educational Dissemination of the Ministry of Interior, aims to enhance knowledge and capacity in understanding and implementing the use of AI technology, which is crucial for administrative work, data management, information analysis, and improving daily work efficiency. Furthermore, the training will provide basic knowledge about AI and its practical applications to increase officials' ability to use AI tools for administrative and specialized tasks, foster innovation and smart work within the unit, and enhance work quality, speed, and efficiency. It also aims to cultivate the spirit of using technology safely, ethically, and responsibly. On this occasion, the trainees expressed their satisfaction with learning new knowledge related to this technology to enhance their ability to use it for their daily work. This initiative by the Ministry of Interior reflects a broader trend in Cambodia towards embracing digital transformation in governance. By equipping its personnel with AI skills, the government aims to streamline operations, improve decision-making, and ultimately deliver more effective public services. The focus on ethical and responsible AI use is also a critical aspect, addressing potential concerns regarding data security and algorithmic bias as the technology becomes more integrated into public administration.
