Doctor Tifa's Plea Accepted in Jokowi's Diploma Dispute

The East Jakarta District Court has accepted the objection filed by Tifauzia Tyassuma, also known as Doctor Tifa, who is accused of defaming President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) concerning his academic diploma. In a hearing held on July 23, 2026, the judges ruled to accept Doctor Tifa's objection. "Alhamdulillah, today all decisions from the Panel of Judges to accept the exception from us, from me, the defendant Tifauzia Tyassuma, have been achieved," Tifa stated after the hearing for the preliminary decision at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/7/2026). During the opportunity, Tifa said her mental state was very prepared to face the preliminary decision hearing today. Tifa then claimed to have received reinforcement from Gadjah Mada University (UGM), President Jokowi's alma mater for his bachelor's degree, in the form of a transcript document. "There is evidence that cannot be denied, that a 1985 graduate of UGM Forestry must have a document like this, namely a complete transcript of 161 credit hours. Then the transcript is fully signed by the dean, by the first vice-dean. This is evidence that cannot be refuted," said Tifa. Not only that, she also claimed to have obtained clear evidence regarding the color of the stamp affixed to President Jokowi's diploma. "We also obtained clear and undeniable evidence that a 1985 graduate of UGM Forestry does not need to look at any artifact on the diploma; just look at one undeniable artifact," Tifa said. "Namely, the 1985 UGM Forestry diploma uses a Rp 500 red stamp and not a Rp 100 green stamp. Diplomas using green stamps of Rp 100 are for junior degrees," she emphasized.
