Vietnam Navy Region 3 Donates Gifts, Scholarships to Children of Military Personnel Facing Hardship

On September 24, Region 3 of the Vietnam Navy organized a program to present Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children of military personnel facing difficult circumstances, including those with serious illnesses or requiring long-term treatment. Scholarships from the "Fund for Youth in High-Lying and Island Areas" were also awarded. The event was attended by Colonel Le Huy Tuynh, Deputy Political Commissar of Region 3, representatives from the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN), the "Fund for Youth in High-Lying and Island Areas," and numerous officers, soldiers, and defense workers from across the region. Colonel Le Huy Tuynh emphasized that caring for the rear of the army is a responsibility and a practical source of encouragement for officers and soldiers who are day and night fulfilling their duties at the front lines. He stated that the Mid-Autumn Festival gifts and scholarships carry not only material value but also the emotions, sharing, and trust of all levels, sectors, businesses, organizations, and individuals towards the families of military personnel. He also commended the efforts and achievements of the children, especially those who have overcome illness and difficult circumstances to excel in their studies and lives. He expressed his hope that the children will continue to be diligent, study hard, respect their elders and teachers, nurture their dreams, and strive to become useful citizens for their families and the country. During the event, 70 Mid-Autumn Festival gift sets and 155 scholarships were presented to the children of Region 3 military personnel, with a total value of nearly 140 million VND (approximately $5,500 USD). The gifts and scholarships were distributed to three groups: children with serious illnesses or requiring long-term treatment, children in particularly difficult circumstances, and those receiving scholarships from the "Fund for Youth in High-Lying and Island Areas." Children with serious illnesses, those requiring long-term treatment, and those in difficult circumstances each received an additional scholarship worth 500,000 VND (approximately $20 USD) along with their Mid-Autumn Festival gifts. This gift-giving and scholarship activity demonstrates the care of the Party Committee and leadership of Region 3 for the lives of officers and soldiers, particularly families with children suffering from serious illnesses, requiring long-term treatment, or facing many difficulties. Timely support for the families is considered crucial for the morale and commitment of Region 3 personnel, enabling them to effectively carry out their duties, including safeguarding the nation's sovereignty over its seas and islands.
