Cambodia Strengthens Labor Law Education to Prevent Labor Disputes

The Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training has organized a training session to enhance knowledge of labor law and related legal provisions for 255 participants, including factory administrations, employee representatives, and trade unions, in Kampong Chhnang province. The training, held on the morning of July 30, 2026, by the National Institute of Labor, aimed to strengthen the capacity and knowledge of stakeholders. Participants from enterprises, companies, and factories within the province gained a clearer understanding of labor laws. Key topics covered included general employment conditions, the implementation of employment contracts, and labor dispute resolution mechanisms. This knowledge is intended to facilitate smoother relations between workers and employers and to prevent and reduce labor disputes that could affect production chains. During the event, Tuy Siphan, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training, emphasized that developing knowledge of labor law among stakeholders is a crucial investment in human capital, supporting national social and economic stability. He also urged participants to diligently absorb the knowledge and collaborate closely with technical officials to address workplace challenges professionally and transparently in a timely manner. This initiative reflects the government's ongoing efforts to improve labor conditions in Cambodia's labor-intensive industries, particularly the garment sector, and to maintain credibility within international supply chains.
