Concrete Slab Falls from Old Building in Phnom Penh, Damaging Two Motorcycles

A concrete slab and corrugated iron roof from an old, dilapidated building in Phnom Penh fell, damaging two parked motorcycles. Fortunately, no injuries to people were reported. The incident occurred around 4 PM on September 6, 2026, on a side road at the intersection of Sok Hok Road and National Road 107 in O'Russey 4 Sangkat, 7 Makara District, Phnom Penh. According to local residents, several motorcycles were usually parked in the area below the building, and there were few people passing by at the time of the incident. Suddenly, the aged concrete structure of the building collapsed, with pieces falling and striking two motorcycles, causing damage. However, no one was hit by the falling debris. Immediately after the incident, residents reported it to the authorities, who arrived to intervene. Currently, the section of the road prone to falling concrete slabs has been cordoned off with ropes to prevent passage.
