Romblon's Most Wanted Suspect Apprehended
Romblon's most-wanted individual, sought for charges including rape by sexual assault, has been arrested by law enforcement. The suspect will undergo documentation and be turned over to the issuing court, highlighting effective inter-unit police coordination.
Romblon’s most-wanted person was arrested by law enforcement operatives in Barangay Poblacion, Looc, on Saturday, July 18, while authorities were serving a warrant of arrest. In a statement, the Police Regional Office (PRO) Mimaropa said personnel of the Looc Municipal Police Station, led by Acting Chief of Police Maj. Richard M. Obsid, carried out the operation with support from the 1st Platoon of the Romblon Provincial Mobile Force Company. The arrest was made by virtue of a Regional Trial Court’s arrest order issued on July 6 in connection with four criminal cases—three counts of qualified acts of lasciviousness and one count of rape by sexual assault. The court recommended bail of P108,000 for each of the qualified acts of lasciviousness charges and P120,000 for the rape by sexual assault charge. Police said the suspect was informed of the basis for his arrest and apprised of his constitutional rights before being taken to the Looc Municipal Police Station for documentation and turnover to the issuing court. PRO Mimaropa Director Brig. Gen. Christopher Dela Cruz said the successful operation demonstrated the effectiveness of sustained coordination among police units in implementing lawful court orders. /mcm
