7-Eleven Robbers Flee with Cash After Confrontation in Surin

SURIN, Thailand – Police are actively searching for two suspects following a knifepoint robbery at a 7-Eleven convenience store in Surin province in the early hours of Saturday. The incident, which occurred around 3:30 a.m. on July 18 at the Saran Park branch, saw the perpetrators make off with approximately 2,141 baht in cash. According to authorities, the two men entered the store wearing motorcycle helmets and long-sleeved attire to obscure their identities. One suspect allegedly brandished a knife, threatening staff, while the pair compelled an employee to open the cash drawer. CCTV footage captured a moment of confrontation as a security guard and a store employee attempted to apprehend the robbers during their escape. Despite their efforts, the suspects managed to break free and fled the scene on a waiting motorcycle. Pol. Col. Ekkapong Pholmanee, superintendent of Mueang Surin Police Station, has ordered investigators to meticulously review CCTV footage from within the store and along potential escape routes to expedite the identification and apprehension of the culprits. Police are appealing to the public for any information regarding the robbery or the suspects' movements. The investigation is ongoing, and all suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
