Rakhine Township Associations and Social Organizations Jointly Offer Kathina Robes

The 8th Rakhine State Dhamma Hall Maintenance Committee, township associations within the state, social organizations, and donors jointly offered Kathina robes on August 2nd at the Rakhine State Dhamma Hall, located near the southern entrance of the Shwedagon Pagoda. The Kathina robe offering ceremony was attended by monks led by the Most Venerable Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Chandavarabhivamsa, Union Minister for Ethnic Affairs U Than Maung, Union of Myanmar Government Advisor Council member U Zaw Aye Maung, Yangon Region Ethnic Affairs Minister U Ne Min Htun, officials from the Rakhine State Dhamma Hall Maintenance Committee, and donors. The ceremony commenced with the striking of the Rakhine traditional gong, and the Chairman of the Rakhine State Dhamma Hall Committee, U Saw Thein, submitted the opening remarks, followed by Union of Myanmar Government Advisor Council member U Zaw Aye Maung, who explained the significance of offering Kathina robes. Following this, attendees took the Five Precepts from the Most Venerable Bhaddanta Chandavarabhivamsa and listened to sermons delivered by the monks. Subsequently, Union Minister U Than Maung and the assembled guests offered Kathina robes to the monks and also donated funds for the Rakhine Dhamma Hall, it was learned.
