Cambodia Deports 21 Vietnamese Nationals for Illegal Stay and Work

The Ministry of Interior announced on September 13 that 21 Vietnamese nationals (including 8 women) have been deported from Cambodia for illegal stay, illegal employment, drug use, detention, and human trafficking. This action is in line with the firm stance of Prime Minister Hun Manet, who has stated that Cambodia will not allow criminals or illegal individuals to use its territory. According to the ministry's announcement, on September 11, following the high recommendation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, Lieutenant General Sok Vathana, Director General of the General Department of Immigration, instructed the Department of Investigation and Procedure Implementation to deport the 21 Vietnamese nationals. The deportation was carried out through the Bavet International Border Checkpoint in Svay Rieng Province. This deportation was conducted after authorities discovered that these individuals were involved in illegally crossing borders, residing and working illegally, using narcotics, and engaging in unlawful detention and human trafficking within the Kingdom of Cambodia. Prime Minister Hun Manet has consistently affirmed his clear position that Cambodia will not permit criminals or offenders to use its territory for fraudulent activities or to commit crimes that disrupt regional and global security. He has emphasized that authorities must continue to cleanse, suppress, and deport without exception to protect national honor and security. In the spirit of these directives and under the direct leadership of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha, law enforcement agencies are diligently working to eradicate cybercrimes, apprehend ringleaders, and rescue victims of fraud, ensuring their safe return home.
