Thang Long - Hanoi Festival Concludes, Celebrating Fusion of Heritage and Modernity

On the evening of September 20, 2026, the closing ceremony of the 2nd Thang Long - Hanoi Festival took place at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in Hanoi. The festival, which ran from September 11 to 20, concluded a series of events featuring over 16 cultural and artistic activities, drawing the participation of more than 3,000 artists, actors, and artisans. The festival aimed to foster a dialogue between Hanoi's rich historical heritage and contemporary culture. It included performances of traditional arts, installations by modern artists, and cultural forums. Events held in the Old Quarter and the Thang Long Imperial Citadel provided participants with an opportunity to experience the city's historical depth and modern vibrancy simultaneously. Vietnam, while pursuing economic growth, also prioritizes the preservation and transmission of its cultural heritage amidst rapid development. Under its one-party system, the Vietnamese government seeks to strengthen national identity and enhance Vietnam's cultural appeal internationally through such cultural events.
