Vietnam to Host Lavish Indian Billionaire Wedding, Boosting Tourism

A lavish wedding celebration for Indian billionaires, estimated to cost $5 million, is set to take place in the central coastal city of Nha Trang, signaling a growing trend of high-profile events attracting international visitors. The wedding is scheduled from December 9 to 13 at resort facilities on Hon Tre Island in Nha Trang Bay, with approximately 1,400 guests invited from India and around the world, according to Phan Quang Dai, general director of Blue Lemon Vietnam Company, one of the organizers. More than 600 staff members are expected to be involved in organizing and servicing the event, which is being described as the largest Indian wedding ever held in Vietnam. The celebration is jointly organized by Blue Lemon Vietnam, a Turkey-based company, and an Indian wedding planning and management agency. Guests arriving from India and other countries will participate in a packed schedule of events inspired by Indian traditions and culture. The program will include traditional wedding ceremonies, receptions, entertainment shows, music performances, culinary experiences, and resort activities. A special welcome ceremony for the bride's and groom's families will also be held at Cam Ranh International Airport upon their arrival. Thai Thi Le Hang, director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, stated that the province's tourism sector would collaborate with relevant agencies and organizers to review requirements and prepare for the event, aiming to ensure its smooth execution. Vietnam has increasingly become a sought-after destination for India's wealthy families seeking grand-scale wedding celebrations. In December 2025, an Indian billionaire family reportedly booked an entire resort in Phu Quoc for seven days for a wedding, attended by over 1,130 guests. Furthermore, Ha Long Bay hosted three weddings involving Indian billionaire families in early February 2026. India is now among Vietnam's top 10 international tourism markets. Nearly 340,000 Indian visitors arrived in Vietnam during the first six months of this year, and Khanh Hoa province has identified India as a key market in its long-term tourism development strategy.
