NGO Urges BFAR to Uphold Vessel Monitoring After Supreme Court Ruling

Oceana Philippines, an NGO, is urging the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) to stand firm on vessel monitoring measures (VMM) after the Supreme Court declared them unconstitutional. The NGO warns that the ruling jeopardizes efforts against illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing, fishery sustainability, and international commitments.
