The Legal Advisory Council of the Cambodian National Assembly held a meeting on the afternoon of August 6, 2026, at the National Assembly building to review, study, and provide in-depth recommendations on the "Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Management of Commune and Sangkat Administrations." This initiative aims to strengthen the efficiency of administration and development at the local level. The meeting, which examined the legal and technical aspects of the draft law, was presided over by H.E. Leng Peng Long, Secretary-General of the National Assembly and President of the Legal Advisory Council. This amendment to the law is considered a crucial strategic step to ensure that the legal framework for commune and sangkat administration is consistent with socio-economic developments, enhancing responsiveness and improving the quality of public service delivery to citizens at the grassroots level more smoothly and effectively.
