Say Kimlom, Governor of Stueng Sa Rung District in Kampong Cham Province, Cambodia, strongly encouraged residents to prepare for voter registration for the upcoming Commune-Sangkat Council elections in 2026 during a food aid distribution event for vulnerable individuals in Tlork village, Chona Lo district, on July 1, 2026. The Governor urged all residents aged 18 and above, whether already registered or not, to prepare their necessary identification documents for the voter list verification and registration, scheduled for the end of the year. This is to ensure that all residents can exercise their right to vote in next year's Commune-Sangkat Council elections. Furthermore, Governor Kimlom instructed local village and commune authorities to pay close attention to supporting residents in their voter registration process and to provide extensive information to ensure widespread participation. He also emphasized that authorities in Chona Lo commune should closely monitor the daily lives of residents, especially those who are vulnerable, and maintain accurate updated lists to facilitate support from all levels of leadership and field teams. During the event, the Governor also advised Chona Lo commune authorities to enhance environmental hygiene awareness among residents, particularly regarding the cleanliness of public areas, including both sides of the newly constructed Tong Thom road, led by Mr. Chan Sinat, head of the Chona Lo commune field working group. Ten vulnerable households received food supplies, clothing, and 10,000 Cambodian Riel in cash.
