Vietnamese Ambassador Presents Credentials to Myanmar President

Vietnamese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, Nguyen Anh Duc, presented his Letter of Credentials to Myanmar's President Min Aung Hlaing in the capital, Nay Pyi Taw, on July 22. This diplomatic event signals a new phase in the bilateral relationship. President Min Aung Hlaing welcomed Ambassador Nguyen Anh Duc and stated that this event, following the presentation of credentials by the Myanmar Ambassador to Vietnam in early July, will contribute to promoting Vietnam-Myanmar relations in a new era. Ambassador Nguyen Anh Duc expressed his honor and gratitude for the warm reception by the Myanmar side and for being appointed as the Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar during this new development stage for both countries. The Ambassador emphasized that as a neighboring country in Southeast Asia and a member of ASEAN, Vietnam always values and wishes to continuously consolidate the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation partnership with Myanmar, for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, and for peace, cooperation, and development in the region. Ambassador Nguyen Anh Duc affirmed his commitment to making every effort and closely coordinating with relevant Myanmar agencies during his tenure to help promote bilateral cooperation in all fields, especially in economic, trade, and investment cooperation. He also requested Myanmar to continue to pay attention and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community and Vietnamese businesses to live, invest, and do business stably in Myanmar, contributing to Myanmar's development and the friendship between the two countries. On this occasion, Ambassador Nguyen Anh Duc informed about Vietnam's recent situation, especially the outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, which has opened a new era of development for the country with the strategic goal of becoming a developed, high-income nation by 2045. "Vietnam consistently pursues an independent, self-reliant, self-strengthening, peaceful, friendly, cooperative, and developmental foreign policy; actively integrates internationally, is a responsible member of the international community, and actively contributes to solving common issues," Ambassador Nguyen Anh Duc stated. President Min Aung Hlaing agreed to promote cooperation through state, parliamentary, political party, and people-to-people channels, and to boost cooperation in economy, trade, and investment, including in potential areas such as telecommunications, agriculture, and healthcare. Welcoming Vietnamese enterprises to explore investment and business opportunities in Myanmar, President Min Aung Hlaing stated that the Myanmar government is ready to create favorable conditions for Vietnamese enterprises to operate stably and long-term.
