Vietnamese Community in Japan Remains Safe After Quake

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has confirmed the safety of the Vietnamese community in the country following a recent earthquake. The embassy reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a bridge connecting Gunma Prefecture with Vietnamese ministries, localities, universities, and businesses to promote concrete cooperation in investment, trade, science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and human resources development. No direct casualties among Vietnamese nationals have been reported as a result of the earthquake. The embassy stated it will continue to monitor the situation and provide support as needed. Furthermore, reports indicate that the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is robustly developing across all fields, creating fresh momentum for strengthening ties between the two nations. Cooperation in areas such as science-technology development, innovation, digital transformation, and human resource development is particularly emphasized. In parallel, various localities across Vietnam have held commemorative activities to honor fallen soldiers and war invalids, expressing gratitude for their sacrifices. On War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27), Vietnamese people at home and abroad paid tribute to those who dedicated their lives to the nation. In Ho Chi Minh City, the city's development is ultimately aimed at improving people's well-being, with particular emphasis on care for war veterans' families and beneficiaries of preferential policies. Dong Nai Province is advancing its "500-day campaign" to search for and identify unidentified remains of fallen soldiers, with DNA testing playing a crucial role. These activities underscore Vietnam's commitment to both domestic social welfare and international friendly relations.
