Kandal Province Leaders Inspect New Road Connecting National Road 5 to Phnom Preah Reach Trop
Kandal Province Council Chairman Nu Sakhorn and Governor Kouk Chamroeun inspected the progress of a new road connecting National Road 5 to the historical site of Phnom Preah Reach Trop. The completed road is expected to improve travel convenience and access for tourists.
Kandal Province Council Chairman Nu Sakhorn and Governor Kouk Chamroeun, along with relevant departments and local authorities of Ponhea Leu district, inspected the progress of a new road construction connecting National Road 5 to the historical site of Phnom Preah Reach Trop in Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province, on the afternoon of June 29, 2026. The road, which is 3,910 meters long and 14 meters wide, will feature a 30-meter long concrete bridge and three box culverts. Upon completion, it is expected to significantly improve access from National Road 5 to the historical site, making travel easier for tourists and also contributing to reducing travel time and traffic congestion for local residents. This project is part of the infrastructure development initiatives promoted by Kandal Province, aiming to boost economic activity by enhancing access to the region's tourism resources.
