Cambodia's Environment Minister Fully Supports Investment Projects, Emphasizing Environmental Protection

Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, has declared his full support for all investment and business projects in Cambodia. The Ministry of Environment will continue to provide cooperation and coordination to ensure that development goes hand-in-hand with environmental protection. The Minister's announcement came during a meeting at the Ministry of Environment on the morning of August 4, 2026, where he received Mr. He Leping, CEO of CFOCN company. The meeting focused on progress reports for the terrestrial optical fiber cable network project and the AAE-1 submarine cable network project in Cambodia. Dr. Eang Sophalleth further stated that supporting sustainable development is a consistent priority for the Ministry of Environment. The ministry supports all investment projects in Cambodia and, in parallel, expands partnerships with national and international collaborators, communities, and stakeholders to protect the environment and natural resources. This aligns with the policies and strategies of the Cambodian government, aiming to attract international capital and promote long-term economic growth. During the occasion, Mr. He Leping, CEO of CFOCN, expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement from the Ministry of Environment and highly commended the Cambodian government's management of the environmental sector. Simultaneously, he acknowledged the Ministry's additional support for current investing companies that demonstrate high responsibility towards society and the environment.
