Urged to implement progress in special economic zones

It is necessary to strive to implement the Kyaukphyu Special Economic Zone, the Dawei Special Economic Zone project, and the deep-sea port project with phased progress according to the timeline, said Vice President U Nyo So. He made these remarks at the coordination meeting of the Central Committee on Myanmar Special Economic Zones held on July 3 in the meeting hall of the Ministry of Finance and Revenue in Nay Pyi Taw, where he also serves as the chairman of the Central Committee. It is said that the President of the Republic has given instructions and guidance on the processes to be carried out for the socio-economic development of the country during the new government's term. Vice President U Nyo So also stated that the special economic zones currently being implemented are important for creating employment opportunities for the public, increasing production and high productivity, expanding exports, increasing foreign investment, and increasing foreign exchange earnings. It is said that businesses in domestic MSMEs and businesses in the Thilawa Special Economic Zone must be linked and implemented in accordance with the directives of the President of the Republic. Furthermore, Vice President U Nyo So stated that it is necessary to ensure that there are no management weaknesses related to special economic zones, to complete the projects within the stipulated period, to persuade and attract investment, and to comply with the Special Economic Zone Law and regulations.
