Cambodian Army Donates Over $280,000 to Kantha Bopha Foundation

SIEM REAP – On Tuesday, July 28, 2026, Major General Keo Thy, Commander of the 2nd Intervention Division of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, led a delegation to donate 288,040,000 Riel (approximately $288,000) to the Kantha Bopha Foundation of Cambodia. This contribution aims to support the Kantha Bopha Hospital's mission of providing free, high-quality medical examinations and treatments for infants and children, as well as free maternity services, without discrimination. This marks the seventh time the 2nd Intervention Division has participated in the fundraising and donation drive for the Kantha Bopha Foundation of Cambodia. The initiative aligns with the spirit and high recommendations of Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Founder of the Kantha Bopha Foundation of Cambodia. It also follows the continuous appeals from Prime Minister Hun Manet and Madam Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Honorary President of the Kantha Bopha Foundation of Cambodia, since the foundation's official inauguration on April 11, 2018. The Kantha Bopha Foundation of Cambodia expressed its profound gratitude to the officers, non-commissioned officers, and soldiers of the 2nd Intervention Division for their ongoing commitment and regular mobilization of donations, in addition to their duties of defending the nation, homeland, and citizens. The foundation emphasized that all donations, regardless of size, are immensely valuable in saving the lives of millions of infants and children in Cambodia each year.
