Kampong Chhnang Province Urges Faster Land Title Issuance

Kampong Chhnang Governor Sun Sovannarith has urged the 'One-Stop Service' unit to expedite the issuance of land ownership certificates to residents. This directive was made during a meeting on the issuance of land ownership certificates through the One-Stop Service, held on June 30, 2026, at the provincial hall's meeting room. The meeting was attended by Siem Run, Chairman of the Provincial Council, as well as members of parliament, the provincial administration team, and numerous officials from relevant provincial ministries and institutions. Governor Sun Sovannarith stated that land registration in Cambodia is a significant task that the government is prioritizing within its land policy to accelerate national development and to prevent and resolve land disputes nationwide. He explained that after systematic land registration, the issuance of certificates by sub-national administrations greatly facilitates the lives of citizens. Specifically, it helps ensure a secure place to live, makes it easier to generate income from their own land, and reduces land conflicts arising from living on unclear land or without ownership documents. Furthermore, a legal ownership certificate can be used as collateral to secure loans for business capital. The governor encouraged relevant officials to further speed up the process of providing ownership certificates to citizens, emphasizing that each document is crucial as it represents the people's property and their exclusive right to use, benefit from, sell, transfer, mortgage, or pass on their land to their descendants.
