Ho Chi Minh City is actively developing an interconnected regional healthcare network to improve the quality of medical services in areas outside the city center. On July 18, the Bac Tan Uyen Regional Medical Center officially became the second facility of Binh Duong General Hospital, marking a new direction in enhancing healthcare capabilities in these peripheral regions. This initiative is part of a broader effort to promote smart hospitals built on digital health data platforms, a nationwide free health check-up campaign, and advancements in healthcare within the Con Dao special zone. The ultimate goal is to establish an electronic health record system for every citizen, bringing advanced medical services closer to the populace. Under Vietnam's one-party system, government-led infrastructure development is a key pillar of national progress. Strengthening healthcare networks like this is a crucial policy objective for the government, aimed at reducing healthcare disparities and promoting the overall health of the population.
