A Myanmar national worker died in a landslide that occurred during the construction of a bridge pier foundation at a construction site in Chonburi Province, Thailand, according to Thai news agency Thairath. The fatality occurred at a construction site along the main road (331) in the Bowin sub-district, Si Racha district, Chonburi Province, around 6 p.m. yesterday (July 25). The deceased has been identified as Ko Nay Zar Kyaw, 28, who died at the scene, according to the medical team. Thai news reported that the deceased had gone down into a pit dug for measurements during the bridge pier foundation construction, when the soil near the pit entrance suddenly collapsed, crushing the worker. Other workers attempted to rescue him but were too late, managing to pull out only one Thai worker in time. Authorities were then immediately notified. Currently, the police plan to transport the deceased's body to Lఎంチャバン Hospital for an autopsy and will continue to investigate the exact cause of the landslide.
