Vietnam's National Assembly Praises Economic Police as 'Sword of Party, State, and People'

Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam, Tran Thanh Man, attended the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Economic Police force, praising the unit as the "sword of the Party, State, and People." This statement strongly reflects the recognition that combating economic crime is indispensable for the stability and development of the nation under Vietnam's one-party system. Chairman Man emphasized that the Economic Police have served as an "impenetrable shield" in protecting the national economy and lauded their achievements. This statement reflects the current situation where Vietnam, while experiencing rapid economic growth, is also facing challenges such as the increase and complexity of economic crimes. Maintaining a sound market environment is particularly crucial for attracting foreign investment and sustaining export-driven economic growth. Concurrently with the ceremony, the National Assembly held discussions on the draft Law on Prevention and Control of the Proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction. This demonstrates Vietnam's commitment to strengthening international cooperation and adhering to international norms such as the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). In the economic sphere, a proposal to reduce income tax by 30% for sole proprietorships and businesses with revenues up to 10 billion VND has been put forward, seemingly aimed at revitalizing the domestic economy and supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. Vietnam's economy has shown remarkable growth in recent years, but it also faces challenges such as fluctuations in international supply chains and geopolitical risks.
