Takéo Governor Expresses Confidence in Cambodian Youth's Global Competitiveness
The Governor of Takéo province stated that Cambodian youth, benefiting from improved education, possess the capability to compete effectively on the international stage. He highlighted their creativity and intelligence, citing the "Bakong" app as a prime example of domestic innovation contributing to national development.
The Governor of Takéo province, Vei Samnang, has highlighted the remarkable progress in the intelligence and capabilities of Cambodian youth from one generation to the next. He emphasized that the intellect of Cambodian youth is in no way inferior to that of foreign youth, particularly those from neighboring countries. Governor Vei Samnang made these remarks during the opening ceremony of a workshop on "Strengthening Operations for Community Technology Centers," held on July 21, 2026, at the Takéo Provincial Hall. He further stated that the nation's current development has led to improved living standards for citizens, ensuring adequate nutrition for child-rearing, which aids in better physical growth and intellectual development. Concurrently, Cambodian youth are receiving extensive education, equipping them with strong capabilities to fully compete with foreign students. As a concrete example of Cambodian youth's abilities, Governor Vei Samnang cited the creation of the "App Bakong," a new and modern payment system in Cambodia. The Bakong system has not only significantly contributed to the advancement of the financial sector but has also elevated Cambodia's international standing. Several countries have expressed interest in adopting this system for their own use, serving as clear evidence of the potential and intelligence of Cambodian youth in innovation and their contribution to national development.
