Bac Ninh Province Officially Establishes Gia Binh City

Bac Ninh Province in northern Vietnam has officially announced the decision to upgrade Gia Binh Commune to Gia Binh City. The announcement was made on September 12th, when the Party Committee, government, and residents of Gia Binh Commune jointly held a ceremony to receive the resolution from the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the establishment of Gia Binh City. This urbanization is part of a broader plan for Bac Ninh Province to develop as Bac Ninh City. The province has proposed the establishment of 12 new city-level communes (phường), and Ho Chi Minh City has also approved a plan to establish 29 such communes. The establishment of Gia Binh City is aligned with the strategy to make Yen Phong district a growth hub for Bac Ninh City. Bac Ninh Province has also commenced or inaugurated eight key projects to celebrate its urban development, signaling an acceleration in regional economic revitalization and infrastructure improvement. Such administrative boundary changes in Vietnam are part of the government's ongoing efforts to promote economic growth and urban development. Bac Ninh Province, in particular, has experienced remarkable economic growth in recent years, attracting foreign investment and focusing on manufacturing.
