P14.6M Suspected Smuggled Cigarettes Seized in Bago City; Laborer Arrested

BACOLOD CITY — Police seized P14.6 million worth of suspected illegal cigarettes during an anti-smuggling operation in Purok Narra, Barangay Malingin, Bago City, Negros Occidental, on Thursday, Aug. 6. Authorities arrested a laborer identified as alias "Kev," 32, of Zamboanga City, while two unidentified male suspects escaped by jumping over a perimeter fence and remain at large. The seizure is part of ongoing efforts by Philippine authorities to crack down on smuggling activities, particularly concerning contraband goods like cigarettes.
