Easterlies to affect N. Luzon; localized thunderstorms to prevail over PH

MANILA, Philippines — The easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean, may bring gloomy skies and occasional rains over Northern Luzon, while the rest of the country may experience localized thunderstorms on Tuesday, Sept. 15, the state weather bureau reported. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported in its forecast that the easterlies are expected to bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Northern Luzon. Meanwhile, the rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of localized thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon or evening. Pagasa also said that no tropical cyclones are being monitored within and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) that could affect the country. The public is advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides in low-lying areas and near mountainsides, respectively, due to the occurrence of scattered rain showers and thunderstorms. Temperature in Metro Manila will be from 25 to 33 degrees Celsius. Baguio City will be from 16 to 23 degrees Celsius. Tacloban City will be from 25 to 32 degrees Celsius. Zamboanga City will be from 24 to 33 degrees Celsius.
