The 1.45-kilometer project aims to improve citizen mobility and urban aesthetics, with construction beginning on July 21, 2026. This initiative is seen as part of broader efforts to enhance transportation infrastructure in central Phnom Penh.
Phnom Penh municipal authorities have begun extensive renovation works on Trosk Pheam Street, a major road in the city center. The project covers a stretch of approximately 1.45 kilometers, from the Old Market (Phsar Thmei) to Preah Sihanouk Boulevard, aiming to facilitate citizen movement and enhance urban aesthetics. The road will be repaved with a 5-centimeter thick layer of AC (asphalt concrete). The road infrastructure restoration and improvement project spans four sub-districts within Daun Penh District: Phsar Thmei 1, Phsar Thmei 3, Boeng Raing, and Chaktomuk. Construction commenced on July 21, 2026. Officials from the municipal administration conducted an on-site inspection to monitor the project's progress and coordinate related tasks, ensuring that construction adheres to the established plan and delivers high-quality infrastructure for safe and efficient public travel.
