At least six people, including two police officers, were killed in an explosion during a drug bust operation in Pursat province, Cambodia. The tragic incident occurred on the afternoon of August 5th in O'Som commune, Vael Veng district. According to initial reports from local police, during the operation to crack down on a drug trafficking group, suspects threw a bomb at the approaching police forces. The explosion resulted in the immediate deaths of six individuals: two police officers, three civil defense officials, and one suspect. The victims identified are: 1. Mr. Som Ra, Chief of O'Som Commune Police Post 2. Mr. Chhorn Prem, Civil Defense 3. Mr. Sok Ann, Civil Defense 4. Mr. Chinda, Civil Defense 5. Mr. Em Doum, Suspect 6. Mr. Sour Sovannarith, Police Officer of O'Som Commune Post 7. Mr. Vey Vuon, Civil Defense Specialized police authorities are currently continuing their investigation and gathering evidence to clarify the cause and details surrounding this tragic event, with the intention of proceeding according to legal procedures.
