As a member of the ASOSAI Audit Committee for 2024–2027, the Vietnam State Audit Office (SAV) participated as an observer in the 63rd ASOSAI Governing Board Meeting. The meeting was chaired by the SAIs of India (ASOSAI Chair) and China (ASOSAI Secretary-General), with 18 delegations in attendance. Key discussions at the conference focused on the application of artificial intelligence (AI), big data, and digital analytics in auditing, as well as citizen participation. Participants concentrated on selecting technologies suited to audit needs, ensuring data quality, and maintaining human oversight. Colette Drinan, Secretary and Director of Audit in the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of Ireland, highlighted the significance of the visit and affirmed Ireland’s readiness to share its experience in developing its 2026-2030 audit strategy, particularly in strengthening the legal framework, performance auditing, and the use of AI and big data analytics. Vietnam's economic growth is also reflected in the improvement of its securities market transparency. According to the 2026 Global Real Estate Transparency Index released by global real estate services firm JLL, Vietnam has emerged among the world’s 10 most improved real estate markets in terms of transparency during the 2024-26 period. Additionally, Bui Hoang Hai, Vice Chairman of the State Securities Commission (SSC), informed the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) about the next steps in the securities market upgrade scheme, which took effect in September 2025. These technological advancements and market transparency improvements are positioned as part of Vietnam's efforts to enhance economic growth and global competitiveness. In particular, the adoption of advanced technologies like AI and big data in the auditing sector is expected to contribute to increased efficiency and reliability. Under Vietnam's one-party system, state-led policy decisions play a crucial role in driving the adoption of these technologies and market reforms. Furthermore, compliance with international auditing standards and ensuring transparency to gain public trust are indispensable elements for Vietnam as it solidifies its position in global supply chains.
