Kompoul District Residents Urge Authorities to Repair Severely Damaged Road

Residents in Cambodia's capital, Phnom Penh, are strongly appealing to authorities for the repair of a key local road in Kompoul District. The road has been in a state of severe disrepair for many years, with large puddles forming during the rainy season, significantly disrupting the daily lives of the community. Residents, who wished to remain anonymous, highlighted that despite the approximately 400-meter unpaved road being a crucial link from the electricity pole road towards the expressway, it has not seen inspection or repair by the district authorities for a long time. Many individuals, including factory workers, students, and elderly people traveling to the nearby Ta Pem Pagoda, utilize this road and are earnestly hoping for its prompt improvement. In response, Mr. Khim Sun Soda, the governor of Kompoul District, told Kampuchea Thmey Local that the road is still wet, and therefore, they will wait for it to dry before commencing grading work with heavy machinery. He also indicated plans to apply for concrete paving of the road next year. This road issue underscores the delays in infrastructure development within Phnom Penh and the earnest desire of residents for an improved quality of life. Ensuring the safety and convenience of travel for local residents is a critical administrative task, especially as urban development progresses.
