Cambodia's Ministry of Interior Secretary of State, Panh Chanthol, presided over a review of the 'Safe Village-Commune-District' policy in Banteay Meanchey province. The first half of 2026 yielded positive results, with renewed commitment to security and public services for the second half.
Panh Chanthol, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Interior, presided over a meeting on July 13, 2026, in Banteay Meanchey province to review the progress of the 'Safe Village-Commune-District' policy and set future directions. During the meeting, Governor Ou Ratry of Banteay Meanchey province provided a detailed report on the implementation and achievements of the policy in the first half of 2026. The governor emphasized that through the tireless efforts of the armed forces and local authorities, crimes have been eradicated and transparent services have been provided to the people, leading to positive results. He also outlined the direction for the second half of the year, focusing on strengthening the crackdown on drug trafficking and illegal gambling, and improving the efficiency of public services at administrative posts. Secretary of State Panh Chanthol highly praised the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Unified Command for effectively implementing this policy with a high sense of responsibility. He urged the security forces and relevant authorities to constantly monitor the security situation in municipalities, districts, and border areas. Furthermore, he instructed to strengthen educational campaigns and crackdowns on juvenile delinquency, drugs, and traffic accidents, which are direct concerns of the public, and to enhance the professionalism and gentle approach of administrative police officers in providing public services, aiming to make villages, communes, and districts the safest and most trusted places to live.
