Cambodia and China Cultural Association to Boost Tourism Exchange
Cambodia's Minister of Tourism met with the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Cultural and Artistic Development, agreeing to enhance cooperation in culture and tourism. This includes mutual art exhibitions, cultural heritage protection, and digital creative initiatives.
Cambodia's Minister of Tourism, Hout Hak, met with Yang Xiaoyang, President of the Chinese Association for the Promotion of Cultural and Artistic Development, and his colleagues in Beijing on July 15, 2026. The meeting took place during Prime Minister Hun Manet's working visit to China, where he attended the "2026 World AI Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance" in Shanghai from July 15-17, 2026. During the fruitful meeting, Minister Hak briefed the association's president on Cambodia's tourism potential and current situation. He highlighted the Cambodian government's efforts to completely eradicate online scam issues and discussed the visa exemption policy for Chinese citizens. He also emphasized the strong historical and traditional friendship between Cambodia and China, particularly the building of a Cambodia-China community of shared future for all seasons in the new era. As a result, both sides agreed to promote and strengthen joint cooperation in culture and tourism. This includes organizing mutual art exhibitions, cooperating in cultural heritage protection, promoting film and video arts, digital cultural creativity, art education, and human resource training, as well as integrated development of culture and tourism. Furthermore, the association will prepare detailed project proposals for the Ministry of Tourism and lead a delegation to visit Cambodia to study the possibilities of expanding cooperation and promoting cultural and tourism activities between the two countries.
