Thai Nationals Arrested in Poipet for Drug-Related Offenses

Three Thai nationals have been arrested in Poipet City, Cambodia, on suspicion of illegal drug-related offenses. The arrests were made following strict orders from the Director-General of the National Police and directives from the Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Commissioner. On July 20, 2026, officers from the Anti-Drug Department, operating under the jurisdiction of the Ou Chrov Commune Police Station in Poipet City, received information from concerned citizens reporting drug-related criminal activity in the area. Upon receiving the tip, authorities immediately identified their target and initiated surveillance. Subsequently, an operation was launched on a public road in Kbal Spean 1 Village, Ou Chrov Commune, leading to the arrest of two Thai suspects. The individuals apprehended were identified as Pariwat Thongmuean, 26, also known as Mun, and Jiraksa Sarakrat, 31, known as Kep. Seized items included one bag of K-pods and three electronic cigarettes. Later on the same day, authorities arrested another Thai national, Karan Kinbokao, 47, also known as Oak, in Duong Chan Borey, Samaki Mean Chey Village, Ou Chrov Commune. During this arrest, 16 bags of pre-packaged K-pods, one electronic cigarette, and two mobile phones were confiscated.
