209 Cambodian Youth Undertake Historical Study Tour, Express Gratitude for Leadership Support

On September 9, 2026, 209 youths from Pearang district embarked on an educational study tour, generously supported by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sar Sokha, and his wife, Ke Suonsophi Sar Sokha. This initiative aims to deepen the understanding of Cambodia's recent history among the younger generation. The tour included visits to three significant historical sites: 1. The Resource Centre of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC). 2. The Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum. 3. The Win-Win Memorial. Through these visits, participants gained crucial insights into Cambodia's tragic past. They learned about the brutal genocide orchestrated by the Pol Pot regime, which resulted in the deaths of millions within a mere three years, eight months, and twenty days. Furthermore, they were educated on the heroic struggle for national liberation led by prominent figures such as the late Samdech Chea Sim, Samdech Heng Samrin, and Samdech Techo Hun Sen, whose sacrifices paved the way for the nation's eventual victory and the current era of peace. The youths also received a detailed explanation of the 'Win-Win' strategy, championed by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, which successfully ended the civil war and unified the nation, leading to the lasting peace Cambodia enjoys today. The participants collectively expressed their profound gratitude to the leadership, including Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and his wife, as well as Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha and his wife, for providing them with this invaluable opportunity.
