57% of Productive Generation in 2029 Elections, Perindo Pushes KPU-Party Synergy to Strengthen Voter Education

It is projected that the productive age population will constitute 57% of the total voters in Indonesia's general election to be held in 2029. In light of this outlook, the Indonesian Unity Party (Perindo) is strongly urging the General Election Commission (KPU) and political parties to establish a cooperative framework aimed at strengthening voter education. This advocacy arises from the increasing importance of political participation among the youth and productive age demographic. The recognition that education is essential for the healthy development of democracy, enabling them to possess sufficient information about the electoral process, candidates, and policies to make informed voting decisions, is a key consideration. The Perindo Party believes that by synergizing the KPU's expertise in election management with the extensive networks and candidate information held by each political party, more effective and widespread voter education programs can be developed. Specific initiatives envisioned include information dissemination utilizing digital platforms, awareness campaigns in schools and universities, and explanatory meetings within local communities. This is expected to increase political interest among voters, particularly the younger generation, and consequently boost voter turnout. The demographic shift in Indonesia's voter base may also influence the future direction of election campaigns and the policy-making of political parties.
