Vietnam's Border Youth Receive Educational Support and IT Facilities
The Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union presented scholarships to underprivileged students and inaugurated an "IT Room for Children" at a school in the border commune of Tan Ho Co, Dong Thap Province, coinciding with the new academic year's opening ceremony. This initiative aims to bridge educational disparities and enhance digital literacy in border regions.
On the morning of September 5, the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union participated in the opening ceremony for the 2026-2027 academic year at Tan Ho Co Primary and Secondary School, located in the border commune of Tan Ho Co, Dong Thap Province. Nguyen Minh Triet, Permanent Secretary of the Central Committee of the Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Student Union, attended the ceremony alongside teachers and students. During the event, scholarships were awarded to students facing economic difficulties. Furthermore, an "IT Room for Children" was inaugurated, equipped with modern information and communication technology devices. This initiative is part of efforts to ensure that children in border areas have access to educational opportunities comparable to those in urban centers. While continuing its economic growth, the Communist Party of Vietnam is also focusing on reducing educational disparities between regions. Particularly in border areas and remote locations where infrastructure development is challenging, improving access to and quality of education remains a significant issue. This initiative addresses these challenges and supports the development of the younger generation who will lead Vietnam's future. In his address at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Minh Triet emphasized the importance of education and the crucial role of building a foundation for children in border areas to contribute to Vietnamese society in the future. The establishment of the IT room is expected to equip children with essential digital skills for the modern era and foster their enthusiasm for learning. Under its one-party system, Vietnam promotes educational policies based on socialist values, aiming to raise the overall educational standards of its citizens. While investment in education has been increasing with economic growth, regional disparities persist. The case in Dong Thap Province is noteworthy as a concrete step towards bridging these gaps.
