Elderly Care Patients Evacuated from Flooded Facility in Bangkok

On September 25th, flooding occurred in Soi Phraya Suren 6, Phraya Suren Road, Bang Chan Subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok, due to heavy rainfall. A citizen reported the situation, requesting assistance for bedridden patients within an elderly care center located in Soi Phraya Suren 6. Five elderly patients were successfully moved from the first floor to the second floor by "Asa Ruam Duay Khumphai" volunteers 006, 036, 065, and 066. This incident underscores the vulnerability of elderly care facilities to natural disasters like heavy rainfall and flooding. The swift response by volunteers was crucial in ensuring the safety of the patients. Thailand's rainy season often brings challenges with flash floods, particularly in urban areas where infrastructure may struggle to cope with sudden deluges. The dedication of volunteers in such situations plays a vital role in community resilience and disaster preparedness.
