Thai Military Inspects, Encourages Border Troops: 'Ready for Any Situation'

A delegation led by Air Chief Marshal Prapas Sonjaithee, Director of the Thai-Cambodian Situation Information Center (JIC), accompanied by Deputy Director Wing Commander Naphat Kaewnak, Royal Thai Navy Deputy Spokesperson Rear Admiral Krachak Yotathasan, Ministry of Defence Deputy Spokesperson Colonel Sansara Woraphatratron, Ministry of Defence Deputy Spokesperson Lieutenant Commander Nattanaichanpleang, Army Deputy Spokesperson Colonel Richcha Sooksuwan, and Department of Information Deputy Director Ms. Maratee Nalita Andamo, along with Mr. Anurak Buasuwan, Advisor and Observer, visited the permanent border crossing at Ban Klong Luk in Aranyaprathet District, Sa Kaeo Province. The purpose was to inspect and encourage the Burapha Task Force personnel. During his address, Air Chief Marshal Prapas stated, "The Supreme Commander of the Thai Armed Forces is watching and supporting all of you. The Prime Minister, the Minister of Defence, the Supreme Commanders of all armed forces, and all levels of command are concerned for your well-being. Rest assured that every soldier will be taken care of." He acknowledged communication limitations within the military but emphasized that preparations are complete. As a commander from the Air Force, he emphasized three key points: "First, not to lose even a single fighter jet. Second, all bombs dropped to protect the nation must not hit friendly forces. Third, all operations must be conducted under international law, targeting only military objectives and avoiding harm to civilians and historical sites." He further explained that if the opposing side uses hospitals or any location as a base for attack, those become legitimate military targets. Similarly, in response to drone attacks against soldiers and civilians, Thailand is prepared to act. He stressed, "We do not wish to provoke conflict or war. Thailand's clear intention is peace, but security preparations must be constant." Air Chief Marshal Prapas reaffirmed that the government and all armed forces are ensuring the rights and welfare of the sacrificing personnel. He acknowledged that soldiers are trained to sacrifice their blood and lives, driven by patriotism and spirit. He assured them that their efforts are recognized and will be a proud legacy for future generations. He confirmed that rights and welfare benefits will be provided, though currently in the budget allocation process, and all listed individuals will receive them. Regarding concerns about bunker readiness, he stated that budgets are allocated for various locations and efforts are underway with community support. He addressed concerns about manpower shortages, explaining it as part of their training system and preparation. "These developments do not happen overnight but will evolve. At a certain point, all forces will be fully mobilized. The Royal Thai Air Force will deploy the first bombs on all military targets immediately upon any incident. We will support ground and naval forces. Please be confident," he added. Furthermore, Air Chief Marshal Prapas confirmed that border crossings will remain closed as per government policy, citing potential security issues and increased problems if opened.
