Cambodia Chamber of Commerce to Open Paris Office Amid Expanding Trade with France

PHNOM PENH, Sept 25, 2026 (KPT) — The Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will establish a representative office in Paris, France, to further deepen economic ties between the two nations, officials announced Friday. This move underscores the growing bilateral trade relationship between Cambodia and France. A government decision mandates that the office, to be officially known as the Representative Office of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France, will cover the capital city. The office will be operated by 15 elected members and will not utilize the national budget. The Ministers of Economy and Finance, Commerce, and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with other relevant institutions, have been tasked with the implementation of this decision. The establishment of the Paris office comes as Cambodia and France prepare for the Third Cambodia–France Business Forum, scheduled for November. Commerce Secretary of State Samheng Bora recently met with French officials, including Emmanuel Ly‑Batallan, economic counsellor at the French Embassy, and representatives from the France–Cambodia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFC) and the French Foreign Trade Advisors (CCEF), to review arrangements for the forum. The forum is expected to serve as a crucial platform for promoting trade, investment, and collaboration between Cambodian and French companies, with a particular focus on opportunities in agriculture, manufacturing, services, and innovation. According to data from the Ministry of Commerce, bilateral trade between Cambodia and France reached USD 267 million in the first five months of 2026, a 15.1 percent increase year-on-year. Cambodian exports amounted to USD 213 million, while imports from France stood at USD 53 million. In 2025, total trade reached USD 568 million, marking an 11.7 percent increase compared to 2024. The CCC stated that the Paris office will provide a permanent presence to support Cambodian businesses, strengthen partnerships, and expand economic cooperation with France, a key European partner in Cambodia’s diversification strategy.
