Vietnam Coast Guard Region 2 Visits and Encourages Forces Participating in "500 Days and Nights" Operation

On September 7, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2 organized working groups to visit and encourage officers and soldiers participating in the "500 Days and Nights Operation to Accelerate the Search, Collection, and Identification of Martyrs' Remains" in Da Nang city and Quang Ngai province. This operation is part of Vietnam's broader efforts to address the issue of fallen soldiers nationwide. The Vietnamese Communist Party and government place significant importance on honoring war martyrs and considering the sentiments of their families, viewing such operations as crucial for national cohesion and social stability. In addition to its primary mission of national defense, the Coast Guard also contributes to addressing such social issues. In the past, they have engaged in strengthening measures against Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, combating smuggling and illegal fishing, and rescuing distressed fishermen, demonstrating the breadth of their activities. This visit aims to motivate the soldiers working under challenging conditions and support the smooth execution of the operation. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the government's intervention in social issues and consideration for citizens' lives are key elements in demonstrating the legitimacy of the regime.
