KADIN Backs Prabowo's 8% Economic Growth Target

The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) has expressed its support for the ambitious target of 8 percent annual economic growth proposed by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Prabowo Subianto. KADIN acknowledges that achieving this target necessitates boosting both domestic and foreign investment, as well as enhancing exports. Minister Prabowo argues that higher growth rates are essential to fully unlock Indonesia's economic potential, suggesting that structural reforms and deregulation are crucial. KADIN's endorsement is seen as a sign of industry's expectations and willingness to cooperate with the government's economic policies. However, considering that Indonesia's economy has largely hovered around 5 percent growth in recent years, achieving the 8 percent target is expected to be challenging.
